What Makes the Holy Family Parish PRE-KINDERGARTEN and
PRE-KINDERGARTEN PLUS Unique?
Children in the preschool are allowed to develop at their own rate while gaining confidence and maturity. Our curriculum has age appropriate activities that introduce our younger preschoolers to math concepts, reading and language readiness, spiritual growth, social responsibility, science, art, and music while stretching and challenging our older preschoolers. Some of the basics include the following:
- * MATH CONCEPTS: counting and recognizing numbers 1-20 and above, counting in sequence, recognition and sorting by color, shape and size, and number recognition, patterns, dot to dots.
* SCIENCE EXPLORATION: Planting seeds, change of seasons,
caterpillar/butterflies.
* READING AND LANGUAGE READINESS: alphabet sounds and
recognition, rhyming words, beginning constants, recognizing
and writing his/her name.
* SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND SOCIAL VALUES: Preschool prayers at the
beginning and end of day, prayer before snack, weekly religion magazine, Christmas and Easter celebrations,
integration of Christian values into daily routines.
* ART AND MUSIC: cutting, gluing, painting, drawing, finger plays and
poems, “musical instruments”, open ended art projects.
* MOTOR SKILLS/HAND EYE COORDINATION: play dough, squeeze
balls, puzzles and outside play.
Pre-Kindergarten program the above basics are enhanced by the following:
- Opportunities to be involved in the main Holy Family School activities.
- Monthly visit to the Holy Family School Library directed by the school librarian.
- Science with the 7th grade ambassadors
- Monthly activity class with in the Holy Family School gym
- Story reading with reading buddies.

What Makes the Holy Family ENRICHMENT CLASS Unique?
At all levels, Pre-Kindergarten, Preschool I, Preschool II and Enrichment, we want to focus on the specific areas of spiritual, social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth. Our programs are designed to expand and encourage a child’s growth. Our Enrichment class allows each child to develop at his/her own rate and continue to cultivate his/her personal skills. This curriculum has open exploration as well as teacher directed activities and includes opportunities for whole group, small group and individualized learning styles. A daily variety of opportunities encourage the development of readiness skills including, reading and math concepts, art, science, motor development, spiritual growth and social responsibility.

- Handwriting enrichment program; Handwriting Without Tears in conjunction with the kindergarten handwriting program
- St. Nicholas visit during Advent

What Makes Holy Family Parish PRESCHOOL I Program Unique?
At all levels of preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, Preschool II, and Preschool I, we want to focus on the specific areas of spiritual, social, intellectual, physical and emotional growth. Our Preschool I classes encourage developmentally appropriate activities which include large and small motor development, readiness skills and socialization. The idea of God’s love is fostered through stories, song, prayer and discussion. A strong foundation is laid for further development of readiness skills.
MATH CONCEPTS: Counting 1-10, and recognizing numbers,
recognition of colors, sizes, shapes, sorting by colors.
SCIENCE EXPLORATION: Spiders, stars, and seasons.
READING AND LANGUAGE READINESS: Name recognition,
recognizing the letters in their name, Show and Tell
opportunities, stories, class discussions, finger plays and
poems.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND SOCIAL VALUES: Prayers at the
beginning and end of school, prayer before snack, weekly
religion magazine, Christmas and Easter celebrations.
ART AND MUSIC: painting, gluing, coloring, cutting, open ended
art projects.
MOTOR SKILLS AND HAND EYE COORDINATION: Play dough, puzzles,
squeeze balls, outside play, blocks.
In the Preschool I the above basics are enhanced by the following:
