· January 1882 Helen developed a high fever and lost her sight and hearing.

· March 1890 Sarah Fuller teaches Helen to speak.

· 1901 Helen begins writing her autobiography, The story of my life. John Macy is hired to help her.

· June 1904 Helen graduates from Radcliffe with honors.

· 1923 Helen begins work for the American Foundation for the Blind.
