Welcome to Grade 3

Hello there! My name is Mr. Andy Harrington and I am beginning my first year as a teacher. I consider myself the luckiest man on the planet to be starting my teaching career at HFK, with this amazing class of 3rd graders. I grew up in North Seattle, where I attended St. John’s Parish School, and Bishop Blanchet High School. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Washington (GO HUSKIES!) in Visual Communications Design. Art is a major part of my life, but it wasn’t what I wanted to do with my career. I knew I wanted to teach, so I went back to school. After college I went directly to Seattle University, where I received my Masters in Teaching. I’ve worked with kids since I was 16, coaching soccer, and as a counselor at the Ballard Boys and Girls Club.
Outside of HFK I play soccer with other “Old People” on Tuesday nights, I coach soccer for Emerald City FC, and I am a bit of a Seattle Sounders fanatic. Beyond soccer, I love reading, drawing, learning, and spending time with my friends and family. I have been blessed in many ways throughout my life, and being part of the HFK community is a great addition to the list.
