Admission Policy
Holy Family Parish School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship programs, athletic or other school related programs. The ability of the school to provide a sound educational program will be a determining factor in admitting students.
The order of preference for admitting children is as follows:
2. Siblings of currently enrolled students
3. Date of parish registration for parent or guardian, participation in the faith life of the parish, financial
contributions made on a regular basis, participation in volunteer service to the parish or school
4. Children of Holy Family Parish School alumni or children who have attended Holy Family Parish Preschool
5. Other considerations may include Catholics registered in other parishes or special circumstances.
Kindergarten, in addition to requirements above:
• The kindergarten teacher and reading specialist will screen applicants for kindergarten readiness.
• In order to be screened for readiness, the completed application, copy of birth certificate and copy of Baptismal certificate (if not baptized at Holy Family Parish) must be received by the school office before February 26.
• Readiness screening will take place on Tuesday, March 4 and Wednesday, March 5.
• The screening sessions will be comprised of both current and new family applicants. Since this is a priority,we will not be able to make accommodations for preschool attendance or activity classes.
• After the completed application materials are received, you will be sent email notification of the screening day and time assigned. Please confirm that your current email address is on your application; email is the preferred manner of communication.
• The kindergarten assessment/recommendation form must be completed by the student’s preschool and sent to Holy Family Parish School by March 2.
• Students applying for kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2008.
